I read your post at the 'go for a million'-thread. I don't want to distract you from working! But I guess I do.
ThanX for explaining, it makes it a little more clear.

My arabic is more bedouin and dialect tunisian. If I 'd give you the words I have learned untill now you will have a problem I think!
But let's try the save words:
AlHamdelleleh (difficult to write it down precisly) Thank you Allah
Inshallah -if Allah wishes
Bismihllah -in the name of Allah (say it before you eat, or do smthng or before whatever you distrust)
Howz - a house built groundflour with a patio
Dar - an appartement
The word for horse I forget all the time, because I learn a little standard arabic and when I ask I hear the bedouin word so both words go in one ear and out from my other ear inmediately!

Haha! You have actually learnt those words which muslims say all the time. Like Alhumdulilah means All paraises to Allah. Alhumd means All the praises in this world, Allah means God. So actuall it means All praises to Allah, which you can rightly say is Thank you Allah in other words.

You have learnt quite quick I must say .

And yes you are right the dialect would be different though the language is the same. Arabic as a language is same though dialect would be different.
That is why I asked if your friend name is Abder or Abdul because in arabic you call it as Abdul Rahim. Abd means forever, Rahim means the caring, hence AbdulRahim, the one who is caring forever.

Wow I am excited to learn more arabic, it's fun! please send me more what you have learnt....

Will be waiting

Regards

Lessons Arabic

Abderrahim, they explained to me should be smthng like: he who gives from the heart. Abdul, he who serves Allah. Rahim he who forgives.
Abderrahim would be a person serving Allah, giving and forgiving.
Sometimes his name is like a little burden for him.

Sometimes I find arabic not possible to translate, any latin words are too narrow, the interpretation of arabic is more wide to me. Like our discussion of the words above.

SamaHni - sorry - excuse me - forgive me
Na'am - what? - what did you say? - yes I am here- no exact translation
Mersaliek thank you (in bedouin)
AHsant - thank you and there are many other words to say thank you
Chobsa - bread
And there is
ESjbiek - what is up?
ESjteb - what do you what?
ESdauer - what are you looking for?
Eshtamel what are you doing?
Well, you understand what I try to say it means the same but there are many ways to express

Now the word for horse your turn
Thank you for being friends now!
