Cooking

I started this thread in the general discussion as well, but do we have any cooks in the house? Any self taught? Anyone here keeping track of a blog?

I'm wanting to start up a new blog on cooking. I thought it would be something fun and since I can't really cook a lot of things, why not!

Let's hear if we have any cooks in the house.

I cook! I love to cook as long as I'm not forced to lol - I'm a huge recipe horder too

My mother would be the one who taught me how to cook. I love alot of "different" food like Japanese, Chinese, Irish anything like that, as well as things like Stew, Hamburgers, Pasta ect..... I teach myself how to cook things like the Japanese food! Nobody in my house eats it.

What about you??

Oh this thread is making me hungry.

What kind of food do I make? I make all sorts of things. Been learning a lot of new recipes and trying out new things, keep everything in a book. I have 2 sister in laws that are absolutely incredible chefs, which is what started this interest.

Favorite recipes?? And fav quick dinners??

Dinner - (Made this up as I went along one nite)

1 filet of tilapia frozen :)
Lemon juice
Creole Seasoning
Veggies - I used baby carrots and broccoli
Butter

I threw everything together in tin foil on a cookie sheet and baked it at 350F until it was cooked through. While it was cooking, threw a salad together and made a fully-loaded baked potato. Tah-Dah! Lol Those were the Apt days... I'll make better stuff now lol, more time.

Delicious! Last time I cooked anything like that, was when we went camping when I was a teeny. Hmmm....the last thing I made, was actually baked and it was a new type of brownie recipe.

I think I'm going to head out and start up a blog, would be fun.

I can cook, but I usually don't. Since I live by myself, it is often easier to make something that you just boil or throw in the microwave. However, I spent a lot of time with my Grandma when I was growing up and she was the best cook ever. Some of the things that we would make often were beirox, cinnamon rolls, beans and cornbread, chicken and noodles (homemade noodles), cabbage rolls, butter beans, pulled taffy, etc, etc. She did a lot of German/Dutch type cooking even though she was Irish. I also seem to have a knack for knowing what seasoning the food needs to make it taste really good.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I don't so much like cooking, but baking is my thing! I love making sweet things :]

My favourite and what i'm best at is cupcakes - I made coconut cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing and vanilla cupcakes with white chocolate buttercream icing on the weekend. So delicious!

My favourite recieps are for cupcakes, a berry cheesecake slice, a RICH chocolate tart with homemade pastry, and a few others I can't remember :]
