Marlea, do you mean the animation? It is a gif and came that way. I just uploaded it. Don't remember the exact process as I did it several years ago and haven't changed it.

I can imagine it took forever...
I have no idea how you "hitch", is it too complicated to explain?

Thank you very much It is complicated, I've learned from a book and I'm really excited to take a lesson in Oct, we are going to the Smokies & I'm going to take a lesson at the Cherokee reservation. My hubby set it up, he's the best!

Here's a youtube video that explains it pretty good. There's not alot out there about it, kind of a dying practice since it can't be machine created.

Spirited!! I crochet as well!! Though I am terrible about finishing anything!!! I am working on a throw now and it is taking me forever!!! I am not that good at it, to be honest but learned the basics in school in the 5th grade. So, I really should put more time towards it. You HAVE to teach me some things!!! Glad we have something else in common!!

MHFounation Qtrs. You HAVE to teach me how to do this!! I know nothing of it but have heard some people say its awesome.

    Horse Hair Hitching, Wow.
Now that I have seen how it is done I can understand the cost of finished projects. Here in Montana we have several American Indian tribes, and these products do come from the jail inmates as stated in the Video.

I do not think that I will ever have that kind of patience and skill!
    Thank you
MHFoundation Quarters for posting that video.

    jdw, yay another crocheter!
Do you happen to have any pics of your projects? Maybe I am the only one that does that?
I do, because every thing I make I give away as gifts, but I like to look back and remember what I've done....

I don't crochet , but I knit - am currently working on a vest for my son , not terribly ornamental like your wonderful crocheting but it'll keep him warm this winter :).

It's cream alpaca/merino blend with navy ribbed waist/collar and arm holes. Will post a picture when it is finished , almost done , just got about half of the front to finish , and then stitch it up :).

I'm terrible compared to his great-grandmother (who taught me), but if you havn't got alot of money it is a great skill to learn as it is so easy to knit things like vests and jumpers especially if you have little ones who arnt so 'fashion conscious!' I can do basic things , like vests and jumpers and blankets - of which we have many 'interesting' patterned ones made from odds and ends of wool I had from other projects. Bed socks are easy too once you get the hang of four needles.

When we went to the UK in the middle of winter he spent the entire time running around in a full knitted suit complete with feet and stitched on mittens topped off with a bobble hat hahaha . Must find a picture to show.

Looking forward to seeing the finished sweater!
I've been told knitting is easier to learn? I see so many beautiful knit patterns I would love to try, but don't have any one to teach me how, I don't know if I could pick it up from just a how-to book or not....

I am dying to see the full knitted suit!
I really hope you can find the photo!

Does your wife have a pattern for the mini ear net?
I would love a copy if she does!
You should post a pick of your mini wearing it when it is finished too, that would be great!
