    Does anyone here quilt?

I'm pretty much addicted to hand quilting. Anyone else?

Each one takes a good 3 months, sometimes more if it's all hand pieced too. The sunflower one is not quite finished. I have lots more when I can get a few more pics up.

They are both gorgeous, but I like the circle one the best. So old fashioned looking.

I like working with fabric and needles, but have done more wool felting. Still, years ago I did a couple of small lap quilts. I could not have finished them, however, if my MIL had not done the finishing, piecing the squares and attaching the backing. Let's see if I can find any photo s . .

I only have the most recent one, which I did about 3 years ago

That's cute! I started quilting when I had surgery on both hands, as a form of therapy to keep the fingers working. I found it was good mental therapy as well. So I've been doing it for more than 20 years now. I still love watching the whole picture come together. I sold the green and cream star one last year for some fair money.

Does quilting dog blankets count? Lol

I made a queen sized quilt when I went through my divorce a few years ago. It was a task that I could completely lose myself in so I wouldn't drown in self pity. I finished it in simple, straight-line quilting on my little machine, no pretty swirls or long arm techniques, but I love it! I love that it represents me finding a new chapter in my life. I guess I never took a final pic, but this was once I had the front fully pieced. I did hand bind it, which took forever but gave a perfectly, love-infused result.

I like to quilt when I have time. I started quilting as a kid, we'd spend a summer's evening after supper sitting on the porch sewing. That's when I learned to can, too. Recently I don't seem to have as much time, so I tend to cut my shapes and piece things together and hand baste but finish by machine. They come out looking good and are just as warm but they don't have that really homespun, sewn with love look that hand quilting imparts.
