Talking DSLR Canon EOS 1100D (Rebel T3/Kiss X50)

I recently splurged and replaced my little Canon SX130 IS Powershoot 12.1MP with a brand-new DSLR Canon EOS 1100D Twin Lens Kit BLACK Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm IS and 55-250mm IS lenses.. Can't wait for it to arrive, and to top it off I got it for a steal of only $494 with the lenses (was going to get a 70-300mm lens with it but chose the 55-250 as it had the Image Stabilizer).

Does anyone else have a Canon EOS 1100D (also known as the Rebel T3 or Kiss X50), I would love to hear what you think of them or see pictures you have taken - I am going to use mine to do some Equine Photography (do not have a business but love photography).

Canons are great cameras, good choice! I shoot with a 40D and love it. :)

Thanks! I can't wait for it to get here (they said 3-7 business days.. it's been 4 now, not that I'm counting.. much). I chose Canon since I was really impressed and love my old Canon (which I am not parting with even though I am replacing it with a 'big brother' Canon) and wanted another because of it.

Wow a 40D very nice StandingOvation, they are higher in the Canon range for photography, must have cost you a bit (I am cringing how much I spent, but at the same time ridiculously happy, haha).

I purchased the same camera last year, early Christmas sale @ Target for 399.00.
I am impressed with the camera, good pictures, lots of settings and adjustments are possible.
I have not really used the video recording.
Pictures are great and large in size.

Some complaints, not suitable for me to take trail riding, rough riding=damage to camera.
Still use an old Kodak while on the trail.
Using pictures for web or posts requires downsizing, I go with 8 - 10% of original.

Viewing on the computer always looks awesome, when shown on the 55"HDTV some pictures appear too detailed, clustered pixels as if the TV is not large enough to display properly. When sized for the 1080 they are excellent.

As with all picture taking I get my best outdoors in natural lighting.
Action shots with the horses have worked well.
I am not a fan of indoor lighting and or flash.

It's a pretty awesome camera, and was actually a gift. From what I hear they got a great deal on it, though, as they bought it used (with a decent lens, some extra batteries and memory cards) from a local photographer.

I don't think you'll regret buying yours! :)
