I love the Thoroughbred series as well as Phantom Stallion series (yeah, I know they're considered kids books but im cool like that...lol)
Smoky the Cowhorse is also an amazing book, as well as Seabiscuit, Man O' War (any of them) & of course, Black Beauty ;)
Thoroughbred, Chestnut Hill, Phantom Stallion, Heartland and the Phantom Horse books (by Christine Pullen-Thompson) are my favourite series. I also like Blind Beauty, Misty, Stormy: Misty's Foal, Moonrunner, Riding the Blues, Born to Trot, Sea Star, Black Beauty, Black Beauty's Son, Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover's Soul and I'm sure there's others that I just can't remember. Any horse book is generally ok by me =]

My very favorite, would be Wild Pony, by Lucy Rees. It's funny. And sad. And awesome.
I -love- the old horse books. They're written so much better.
So nearly everything by the Pullein-Thompson sisters are -great- Pullein-Thompson sisters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I used to work for Demco who made hard cover books for schools and libraries. It was difficult not to sit there and read half of those books. So I know many of those books you guys are reading!
How about "Can I get there by moonlight?". "Gypsy and the moonstone stallion", old book I read when I was maybe 13. I haven't read that "Chicken Soup for the horse lovers" yet. What is it about? Do me another favor, when you are reading these books from school or the library, check the back of the book inside cover and see if it was made from Demco Media. I'd be interested in seeing how many are out there. Posted via Mobile Device
Even though I am much older now, one of my all time favorites is a children's book called Three Little Horses. I also love the works of Norman Thelwell. He really gets the silly side of owning a horse.
