Fire!

I went to the barn today. I had planned on stopping to grab a drink before hand but told myself to wait. I always have to pee, so I figured I'd wait to get a drink for the return trip. As I turned the corner on 59 I saw a HUGE cloud of smoke. I had planned on stopping on the highway for a photo. Then I figured I'd get brave and get closer. I drove all the way up to the road closest to the fire. There was a field and a lake in between myself and the fire.

It was really awesome. At first I thought it was just rampant but then I spotted all the tiny people. Tons of men with flame throwers and trucks. They were burning an old corn field. I guess they're just trying to get it ready for the new season. It was exciting to see it. They moved that fire so fast. The people were so tiny.

There were a bunch of other photographers out there. They all had giant lenses. I had total lens envy.

Awesome pics. I wish I could have been there! I love burning... grew up with burning brush and burning the grass every year. Burning a field of dried corn would be wild! Looks like they were well organized.
