The Hobby Blues

I am having trouble with hobbies.
People will ask you a million times, "What do you want to do when you grow up?"
And all I say is an equestrian.
I want to manage my own local equestrian center.
With riding rings available, boarding, training, sitting, etc.
All kinds of activities and things like pony clubs and shows.
I don't really have any hobbies besides horses. I like animals and working with people.
What hobbies should I consider trying?
I clean the barn in the morning. Let the horses graze until about noon and then I start working with a few horses a day. This only takes me a couple hours and then after all that. I do my homework, shower, and then that is my day. I am bored and having nothing to do because I have done everything I can do with the horses.
Any suggestions?

I read a lot, but I definetly read books becuase I have to anyway for Indepenent Reading Confrences. I have a summer reading assignment and my goal for that is 900 pages. Thanks!

If its something you enjoy find a good series. I have to limit my Anne rice and Shakespeare intake. Can't open either author without 3 hours to spare!

A hobby can be anything you just seem to have an interest in or enjoy doing. For example if you enjoy cooking or baking, you could start doing that more often. If you enjoyed biology back in highschool you could take some courses and start a field journal and explore your local plants & animals (or geology!). If you're interested in travel or reconnecting with your distant family, try starting a savings account to go to a new country while you study their language, and go when you have mastered it.
You could also try something you have never had an interest in before. Maybe you would find that you loved knitting or making pottery, or doing standup comedy; something just as random as that. This board would be a good place to start. Read about other people's hobbies and see if you dig them.

Hobbies are things you LOVE to do. For me it's grooming my horse, reading, riding, cooking, being outdoors doing outdoorsy things, etc.

You can embrace one further and take it along. You said you enjoy writing. So make a little collection of short stories to share with your kids one day. Or poems, or write a novel just because you can.

The best hobbies are ones that you can create and begin projects :)

It seems that I get up early and do barn chores/feeding time and then I don't have anything to do. I can't keep myself busy. I LOVE taking pictures, but my camera broke while taking Breyer Model Horse scences and then my friend broke my phone so I can't take any pictures. I can't buy a camera right now either because we are making barn improvments so I can get another horse now!!! <3

You mentioned model horses. A hobby of mine when I was younger was making tack for my Breyers. Blankets, halters, bridles, etc... I also made barns and trailers out of cardboard boxes.

That is a great idea. I don't have a ton of money to spare though because I am looking for a show horse right now. I make videos with my breyers and post them to youtube. I have tried making tack - I like making custom saddle blankets.
