I've always wanted to teach my border collie agility. I asked my Dad if he could help me build some equipment but after we finished one jump I realized it would be too expensive to continue on. I love to watch her fly over that jump though.

Gorgeous pictures, looks like your dogs are loving it.

You don't NEED real agility equipment. I eventually am going to take classes, but for now I'm just getting my dog used to new and "scarey" things. Skate board ramps, kids tables (covered in blankets=tunnel) Commands like up, over, and under, ladders for a dog walk, ect. Here's one of my "jumps"

I would love to teach my dog how to agility, but I think he would be too much of a spazz to learn. He's a rat terrier, which supposidly a very smart, but he has the attention span of a goldfish, he can't even concentrate on the same toy for more than a minute.

Maybe when I get back into an actual house (and not this lame apartment) I will try to set up some stuff in the yard and see what he does.

I would like to get hollywood into this.

Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.

I think Rockie would do well on the jumping part and the sit table if I could keep his attention, he might even do okay on the sea-saw and the bridge thing, but how to you train a dog to go into those tunnels?

Agility's tons of fun! I've already started a little bit with my aussie girl, Willow. She LOVES it, and learns incredibly fast!

QHDragon - most dogs actually love the tunnel. Willow will go through ours even if she's not asked to! My golden however, is afraid of going in it but I think she's in the minority.

CPE is Canine Performane Events, it's a national club that hosts agility trials.

USDAA is United States Dog Agility Association.

AKC.. American Kennel Club.

Hope that helps :)
