My boyfriend is in a photojournalism program. He started with a Nikon D40 years ago. Then switched to Canon 50D. He bought a Canon 5D Mark3 this summer for the program. He has a 5-12mm? fisheye/wide angle, 50mm fixed, 70-200mm, and the standard lens, as well as a flash. He is looking for more lenses and flash equipment.

I own a Nikon P500
It doesn't have a changeable lenses, but it is about 4mm to 144mm
and a 36x optical zoom. It is a very great camera!

I use a Canon Rebel XSi. I love it but I really want to upgrade to a newer Canon model, but that will have to wait :) I use a Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Lens (which I used on the picture attached), Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Lens, and the basic lens Canon EF-S 18-55mm that came with it.

I love Canon, I find that they are easy to use once you know how. I started with a more basic Rebel XT when I first got into Photography. I attached a photo of a picture I took this summer of my morgan gelding Sunny.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3 and I love it! I think I have an 18-55 mm and a 75-300 mm lens? I can't remember exactly, I'd have to go check, but it's somewhere around there. :P

I find it very user-friendly. I don't have a lot of experience with photography, but I like setting the focus myself. I find that point-and-shoot cameras, the more you use them, it seems like it doesn't focus as well...like it's not as "sharp" as it used to be. I don't have that problem when I focus myself. :P But I can still use automatic settings if I want, OR set them myself, apart from the focus (and I can use automatic focus too, but I don't do that very often, lol).

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures I've taken (automatic settings, manual focus) :

(Second one was converted to black&white on the computer; don't mind the text, it's just a name I used on a website)
