playing the violin

Besides riding one of my hobbies is playing the violin. Is there anyone else?

The current piece I´m playing is scene de ballett by charles de beriot. I love it! It´s so romantic!

I also play in a youth orchestra. We already had some journeys like to budapest in hungary or trient in italy. Today I also received the invitation to play in the city orchestra. But I´m afraid I have no time to play in two orchestras, because I don´t want to give up the youth orchestra (and my beautiful place at the first violins )

What about you?

I started playing when I was 4...I'm now 15. I have done orchestras, pits, and a few recording studios. Unfortunately it hurts me to play now. Even a 15 minute practice hurts my wrist.

I play the fiddle. My Great Grandmother immigrated from County Cork Ireland, with her fiddle at her side. Her two brothers as well.

My Grandpa played and so did my Father.

I picked it up naturally and taught myself. I play allot by ear, but taught myself to read music.

I had up to 30 students when I was teaching. I compete at Fiddle Contests and I play at Dances and Music Festivals.

That's pretty awsome. I would love to play the violin well. I used to play it at high school but I was rather mediocre.
Infact, our foxy used to run and hide her head under the mat when my violin came out - so I guess that meant I was probably very mediocre.

I play :) Started when I was 11 (now almost 17).

My high school orchestra and I are playing Pirates of the Caribbean, Turtle Island String Quartet's Skylife, Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony (last movement called Frolicsome Finale), Vaughn William's Sarabande, Elgar's Nimrod.

We are considered by many the best high school orchestra in the state of Kansas and are playing professional pieces.
