I'm reading Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett, I love his Discworld series. Recently finished Carrie and Christine by Stephen King which were really good.

Can anyone recommend a good book about vampires that isn't the type of drivel about mopey, vegetarian, lovelorn vampires that seems to be the only vampire stuff to be churned out? I've read Dracula, The Darren Shan Saga etc. I want a proper old fashioned vampire that would kill a human as soon as look at them.

LOL. Well, I don't have any of those sadly, but I know a REALLY good series (if you don't mind a ****ty female protagonist/heroine) is the Anita Blake:Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K Hamilton. I just finished up book number 17 a few days ago.

I'm currently reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. It's basically about the meat industry and the ethics of eating animals.

For university I'm also reading Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass.
