    Green Broke
Hello! I love writing, it is the other part of my life besides horses. I have been on a bit of a writing break at the moments as I am job hunting and that's stressful! I write poems, short stories and a bit of fanfiction. I would love to write a novel or novelette one day.

I am an avid writer! I recently started a blog about my horsey life which you can find here! I have tried writing novels and all my short stories are also equine-related. Newspaper articles and magazine articles also occasionally flow out of me when the muse is right.

I write almost every day. Mostly it's just bumming around with friends who also write, playing with concepts, and one day I'll put together some of the shorts I write and work them all together into a novel. One day.

    Question for fellow writers.

How do you find the time and motivation to write daily? I used to write almost daily before I got with my boyfriend, but now it just doesn't seem like I have the time or the motivation to write (we've been together almost two years, so it's not the "new boyfriend infatuation" lol). I wrote the other day for the first time in...months...and the only reason I felt motivated was because we were watching The Lord of the Rings special extended editions (watched the first two). Those are probably some of my favorite movies of all time and I've watched them dozens of times, so it's not like I was bored. But, when I want to write, I can't always just pop in a movie. Ahhhhh!!

Well..there is something called a "writer's block". When somothing gets in front of their writing, it causes them to not want to write.

Sometimes it is just saying, "NO, I AM going to write no matter what!" Even if you take just ten minutes a day to jot some things down, it will feel so easy after a day or week.
I write two children's stories a week for a group of kids. Sometimes I really don't want to write, but I just tell myself I will and I usually end up writing! :)

My friends motivate me! If I'm not writing, I get complaining messages until I do. If I don't write for two days they get worried.

One of my friend's likes to say that "Writer's block is when your characters get tired of all the crap you put them through and go on strike."

The other part of my problem is that I'll sit down with the laptop open and a story I'm working on pulled up...and just sit there. Or I read through all the stuff I've written, but don't get anything new written.

Drafty that's MY problem for sure!! The main difference between me and someone who belongs in the loony bin is that the voices in MY head all have names and histories and I write their stories down.

And they get very tired of me throwing everything at them, including the kitchen sink, and seeing how they cope with it. Apparently I'm not trying hard enough because I haven't broken one yet.

Oh my heck! I'm sitting at the counter at work literally crying because this made me laugh so hard. My boss is looking at me like I'm a fruit loop!

    ***TRIGGER WARNING***
Most of my favourite characters have been abused at some point. I have a new one, a werecat called Miles, whose father was cruelly, coldly abusive. Then there's Monty, he's human but he made a deal with the devil to make him immortal. He was abused by his father. Ayla was abused by her masters [she was a slave], Kana was abused by basically everyone she came across because she's half-wyvern, therefore different, therefore... cops crap from everyone [I guess I broke her, kind of, considering she's batcrap crazy and a serial killer now], Elan is Monty's twin sister so same crap with her father as Monty had... and another new one, Ahjeyah was raped.
    ***END TRIGGER***

Then there's the ones who had good parents and/or have never been abused by anybody. Valiant is chimeric, and when he was born, part of him was werewolf... part human. Which basically meant that when he hit puberty and the werewolf part was gearing up to go wolf for the first time, his body tried to rip itself apart. Dunbar lost her father when she was ten and blamed herself [she's dead now, so is Valiant, this world is on its third generation with fourth to come very shortly]. The list goes on!

So basically I put them through hell. Every single one of my favourites gets tortured. All of them.
