Wow...that is one underrun heel. That heel is so far forward, it ends where the toe should end. That needs to be backup up a ton. Hope your farrier knows his stuff.
Well at least, if nothing else, you know that horse can grow some serious hoof. I can't believe they got that long in 4 months time. Usually if they get that long, they just get crushed under the weight of the horse. Once this farrier gets the hooves into better alignment, he should do very well.
i was suprised to and hes never ever been lame or had any type of hoof issue .... me thinks My boy has some pritty good feet except hes got a very mild case of thrush but its always raining here and the paddocks are hog fuel. lol i took part of his hoof trimmings and tried to snap it nd holy was it hard!!
There is only so much he can do in one trim. It might be in the horse's best interest to have the farrier return in about a month's time but that's up to your farrier.
