Question Black spot on sole?

I was checking my horse's feet today and I noticed a black streak on the sole of his left front hoof, which happens to be a club foot:
(sorry about the snow, I had a hoof in one hand and my phone in the other )

Not sure if you need a couple conformation shots, but here are a few just in case:

I can hop out and take any more that are needed (if needed)

I don't think it's a bruise since it's not red-purple, and there's no hole for an abscess. Should I be worried?

I would think it was a bruise? But I'm no expert. I don't know much about feet

Just looks like pigment to me.

Thanks loosie, glad to know it's nothing to worry about. Just kind of alarming when you pick the hoof up and there's a spot you've never seen before

I was thinking pigment, too. If it wasn't there before, maybe it is just a bruise. Horses are really good at getting bruises on their feet, especially in the winter. They knock their feet on frozen uneven ground all the time.

Thank you that's a relief!
