Keeping horses on dry, firm ground, well & frequently trimmed, ensuring their diet & nutrition are healthy & they're not getting too much/too starchy/rich feed, ensuring any infection is adequately dealt with and ensuring they get as much exercise as possible and are comfortable doing it - so adequate protection/support where necessary. That's the 'nutshell' of hoof health.
