We started to notice it a few weeks ago, and around that time I started to also notice my easyboot gloves started to feel a little looser, easier to get on and off. I really swear the line did not grow out of the coronary band, but started like right where the hoof boots are...Its seemed to have grown down slightly now though.
My trainer said it almost looks as if it could be a founder line, but since I've had him since September he's never shown signs of foundering? I did contact easycare, and she said that was odd, and asked me to get more pics (will post below) and take measurements. He's in a 1 1/2 with a powerband. So I did take the measurements and by the measurements I took it seemed that he went down in a size, possibly even to the 1 wide. Since I've had him we've been trying to work his toes back and correct his heels so I figured that's whats caused the shoe size to change is that we're getting his hoof to the more proper size? So I emailed them back with more pictures and my measurements but have not heard back yet :(.
Well, the woman I board with reminded me that an actual dealer lived only 3 miles away from us, she bought her horses boots from her. So I called her and she came over tonight. She said the 1 1/2's were a perfect fit for his fronts and was stumped by the line too. Especially since its slightly below where the boots sit now since its grown down a little.
What do you guys think though? I really am confused and don't know if this is something I should be worried about? He's never taken a lame step or seemed at all sore. He's on free choice hay, not much grass atm, we're seeding our small field. Then gets 2 cups of enrich 32 a day a long with farriers formula plus.
Anddd for pics. I meant to try hosing off his hooves today and cleaning them to try and get some more pics but the neighbors kids came over and wanted to pet the ponies so I forgot to :(
