I got an apprenticeship!

Soo..someone else's farrier was out while the barn farrier (who SUCKS) was out putting shoes on my two and I wish I'd have known he was coming out before I let her put shoes on my two ;;

But anywho, he does awesome work and specializes in corrective trimming and shoeing. And he's cute with nice looking arms to boot! So, I mentioned I was looking to finish my farrier education and be able to shoe and he said he'd love an apprentice because he's currently working 7days/week with 18hr days! So, for now I have to give him a call later on today and talk about when I'm available and he said he'll gladly give me some of his clients to lighten his workload a bit.

I'm so excited! Currently I can only go out with him on weekends and my off days, but if I can make the career I was looking for out of this, I'll be so far past ecstatic, haha. I can't wait to give him a call tonight and get to learning shoes and forging!

I just figured I had to gloat..lol. I know I'm going to have fun learning from him, and I can work right out of my truck when I get started.(:

I was married to a farrier for the last 11 years of his life-it's hard work but rewarding. For him, he was in it for the horses, not the money,so while he made a living, it wasn't luxurious, but he loved his work & that made his life happy, & mine, too. Hope you like it-when done right you can make a positive change in many horses's & people's lives. Start doing whatever you can to make your body as strong as possible.

Iseul, that's great. Good for you. I knew you'd find something.
I have a sucky barn farrier too. I got to stop whining and get someone else.
