Alrighty, got pics today finally, a week late sorry :(

    Untitled Document

Tried to get it kinda organized, and I wrote what I think still needs improvement? If anyone has a min to just draw up on a few pics of how much I can actually take off in one trim, it would be really helpful! Thanks!

    Hi,

Better. I agree with all you've said, of what is needed. Basically, you can still start your toe bevelling a fair bit further back in all hooves, and the heels can be brought back further, esp fronts, but not necessarily lowered much.

I think if you have people in your area who understand 'natural balance', you can do better than this trimmer, as you shouldn't have to do this work yourself if they were better trimmed, aside from 'brush ups' to keep them there between trims.

I'll mark some of your pics for better idea when I get time. Forget & no time to go thru thread now, but did you get rads of his hinds, with regard to balance/low heels?

I haven't got rads, would that be a good idea to? I was going to get spring shots/teeth/chiro done in april, I could add on rads then too lol just have one giant bill!

No hurry about marking up but if you have time that would be great! I'll see if I can get in contact with the trimmers I found on ELPO and see if they do actually come to my area, they were about 30-50miles out so I may be too far :( If they do I may give it a try.

Any idea about the sole bruising? He hasn't been off so is it maybe not bothering him? Or are they just older bruises? Like I said I've been trying to put durasole on as much as I can, haven't been able to last few days though, all my stuff is locked in tack room by like 6" of ice and I don't know where barn keeps a shovel :(

Another alternative if you have a float is to take the horse to them.

I'm not a fan of durasole type stuff, especially if used frequently. If soles are thin & sensitive they need to grow thicker & providing protection & support under the foot where necessary until that happens, is far superior to painting something on to make the thin sole harder.

I actually just sold my old trailer yesterday..andddddd have a brand new featherlite on order :) :) :) One of the trimmers is about 55 miles away and says in their bio they mostly just do trailer-ins/people are their barn..should have my featherlite late April early May, so maybe I'll try that. There is one trimmer closer but I'm not sure about her? She's on the certified list but I can't find ANY info about her, not one thing besides her name and number on the list. They don't even have a bio page for her? So not really sure about that.

Hm what should I do for him then? The grounds just so frozen and rutted in his paddock :( I have easyboots for him but I'm pretty sure he'd lose them playing haha. Hopefully winter will be over soon!!!!
