Opinions on if a bell boot will help?

My mare always sticks her front hooves in fence..that's causing them to chip and she's scabbing up the back of her hoof right above the hoof and making it bleed...i dont have a hay ring in my field because when she was staying at a friend's she stuck her foot in it and the gelding there tried to run her off and she snatched her foot out ripping off all of the skin on the back of her foot..(it was a mess)..i'm hoping putting up an electric fence will stop her from doing this but do you think making her wear bell boots will help with this?

I really don't think bell boots is going to help. A hot wire is the best way to go. I think maybe wraps would help, but someone else here would have to say so.

Agree w Hotwire. She will learn not to do it then. May not generalise the lesson for all fences Etc. I'd probably want to be present to start with, to ensue she didnt get caught in it.
