Rasp or Riders rasp?
Im going to purchase my barefoot horse some hoof boot's, but before I invest in those I would like to purchase a file of some sort to be able to file his feet to keep them the same size to fit the boots. Our farrier comes out about every 2-3 months or so (Rusty gets ridden allot, and his feet stay nice and filed down naturally, but when I start putting the boots on, they wont be filed down anymore) so on our farriers 'off' times between the months that she doesnt come out, I would like to be able to file his feet down. I WILL have her show me how to file them down correctly, but I wanted to ask, should I be getting a riders rasp, or like a 'real' farriers rasp, and any other ideas to keep his feet filed down, I will be glad for! If any of you guys use hoof boots, how do you keep them fitting your horse? File them? What?
E v e r y horse is good for something. You dont throw a whole life away just cause he's banged up a little...
