Thanks for all the advice.
Horseman56 I shall give your man a ring and see what he says.
As the weather is ( temporarily) dry now, his feet are starting to chip and i'm not over the moon about his balance in general.
Why is it that the more you think you know about horses, the less you actually do???

That's what I love about them.. you never stop learning :)

If his hooves are in poor shape, maybe look at his diet too.
