Smart Hoof/Smart Hoof Ultra?

I have a project horse coming and he has positively awful feet. He's a 5 year old OTTB whose owner purchased and then promptly forgot about. She says she can't afford a farrier so he has gone up to 4 months without even a trim. One of the other boarders finally trimmed him with her own tools, but he wouldn't let her near his back feet so those are even worse. They are dry, cracked, and uneven.

Has anyone ever used Smart Hoof or Smart Hoof Ultra? I am quite wary about supplements, even though this has great reviews. I wouldn't mind spending the $17-$30/month on a supplement if I thought it would really make a difference.

Subbing!

I have a new horse coming in the next week or so who spent a few years in a rather neglectful situation before his current ( soon to be old ) owner got him last year. His hooves are cracked as well, not too deeply, but you can tell his feet had been forgotten about in the past. Would love to know if this supplement ( or any for that matter) work!

Most SmartPak products are great. I'd take a look at their ingredient comparison chart for hoof supplements to get the most bang for your buck. A lot of people don't want just straight biotin. They want zinc, ect. to help with absorption.
Do remember that you need at least 20mg of biotin per dose to get results.
My mare does just fine on a plain biotin supplement. It's like $13 at Smartpak.
