Question Would you call the spca?

Hi everyone,

I'm just curious on how you would react if you saw the following case, would you call the spca or not? This was an actual case I was called to where the spca was involved already so I didn't have to make that decision.

There's way too many lame horses around due to neglect. Here's the pic:

Thanks for the responses, it's good to hear a bunch of concerned horse owners sound off. You'd be surprised how many people neglect caring for their horses hooves. I've seen it way too often.

The only time I might say "no" is if I knew the person just got the horse recently. In that situation, they might still be looking for a farrier who is knowledgeable enough to not do damage trying to "fix" them.

But, if the horse is with the person who allowed those feet to get that bad, you can bet your butt I'd be calling somebody.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
