would you say this is an abscess?

Sorry for the bad quality pic. I've never delt with a hoof abscess before but pretty sure my mare has one.. she's been very lame, sore swollen front left leg, noticed yesterday oozing coming from the back of the frog in the bulb of the heel , now this morning theres 2 slits in the back of the frog, would you say this is an abscess,

Yup, looks like an abscess. Poor girl; must have been horribly painful until it ruptured.

OUCH! I hate absesses. I had one mare that had a few of them. Keeping it clean now is the key. Glad it popped now she must feel a lot better since the pressure is less.

Yes, Soak her foot in epsom salt and warm water. Then let air dry really well. To help keep it clean and dry a baby diaper works well. Then wrap that in duct tape. Keep it dry and clean. If you can stall for a few days, that would be alright or keep on higher ground if possible.

The vet put a baby diaper on, first sprinkling epsom salts on it, and just a tiny bit of water, duct taping it on with a TON of tape. Should stay on for several days.
