Lease Document???

I hope that I have this in the category, but I just wanted to see if this might be useful for everyone else, I need to make one up, have never seen one before and never seen any documents of them before, but this is a lease forum that I did up, hope everyone can see it, and don't be afraid to correct. I do know some law terms, but definatly don't know everything. Let me know if this is a step in the right direction.

This is what the document stated that I made up:

This is a document providing the free lease of a mini/Shetland
mix named “ ”, owned loved and cared by , into the care of ___________________ on the date of _________2009, until _________2009. If an extension of this lease occurs, another document will be provided.
This makes _________________, assuming full responsibility/accountability for “ ”. The following is a list of what the person looking after this animal is accountable/responsible for:
I.FEEDING- Bran (2x per day, once in the morning and once at night), Hay 3x per day unless grass if provided than hay can be rationed back to 2x per day ½ a flake –to- 1 sm. Flake at a time.
II.CARE- Brushing, attention and baths (only if you want or feel its necessary, ensuring as much physical, mental and bodily health as possible.
III.EXERCISE- Must be exercised at least 2x per week, can be anywhere from a walk, training, lunging, or being ponied in a safe environment.
IV.BEDDING- (only if “ ” is inside of straw or shavings.
V.HEALTH- Any issues that may occur must be looked after by the person looking after/caring for “ ”. If in the event of an injury were to happen, and the person is unsure what to do, must contact owner for discussion.
In this agreement, it becomes active and complete when both parties make their signature at the bottom of this page in the signature area. By this being signed, this allows ______________________ to train and show “ ” in any local event, show, clinic, or fun day that she pleases.
In this agreement is to provide the feed for “ ” while under the care of .
is allowed to visit “ ” at anytime she pleases during the lease period.
NOTE: Owner keeps original signed documents, while the person leasing keeps a color copy.

you can start with nothing, and out of nothing or no way, a way will be provided.

Looks good. That is pretty much what my lease papers looked like for Candy Cane!

Thankyou very much, I just needed to see where I stood, I only ever bought horses, I never had to lease out a horse before. My friend wants to play around with my mothers mini shetland, and mom didn't want to let her go, so she wanted me to make up papers and thats what was made up.

I like it, I would just add a loop hole in case you need/want the horse back because they're not caring for it to your standards.

Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.
