Acrylic Painting Critique

Hey if you could critique this painting for me that would be amazing! It's not finished...I still need to paint the eye and mane/forelock and develop the chest/leg more. My main problem is the ears I think. Are they in an ok position (I haven't worked on shading and highlighting them yet)? Ears are my weakness haha. I took this picture with my cell so the color is off and lighting is weird but I tried my best :/ It's a large painting too...the largest I've ever done so far! I'm fairly pleased but I needed other opinions to see if there's anything off. Thanks! :)

The ears do seem a tad off; I think they need to be not as pointy and also have more dimension from front to back. Hope this makes sense!

Ya I really don't like the ears. By dimension do you mean give them more shading and tones and whatnot? Or something different??

It has more to do with the shape of the ears, I think. If you look at a picture of a horse with his ears pricked, the ears are deep and not as narrow.

See how they're more triangular that oval? For lack of a better description, if you were to stick your finger horizontally into a horse's ear, your finger would go farther back than what you have now.

I could be completely off the deep end; I'm no artist! You definitely have talent, though. I'll be interested to see the finished project.

Wow I totally understand. I can't believe I didn't see that earlier! Thanks so much! Ill get right to work fixin them ears. Oh and thanks for the compliment :) I really enjoy painting and I'm trying to improve. Ill try to remember to post it when its finished :)
