Acrylic Paintings

Here Is one I just did. Its a foal so that's why it looks weird. Any Advice?

Try using Liquitex gloss or Matt medium gel mixed with your acrylics to make the paint more fluid and it takes a little longer to dry.....that's why I hate working in acrylic, because I can't push it around on my canvas like oil....I use my acrylics only for under painting now

Not to sound rude... But don't use, "It's a foal, that's why it looks weird" as your escape goat for what is simply lack of experience. That's using the wonky anatomy of a foal as an excuse for poor execution & is a bad habit! As far as critique, I can't quite explain it, but the placement of the eye is off -- it's placed very high & proportionally speaking, is rather oblong. But I love you use of color -- you're well on your way to those lifelike acrylic paintings!

I think if you pushed yourself hard enough you will continue to improve. Having a "style" can be charming, but only to an extent -- you don't want to be so obsessed with 'style' that you deform your subject(s).
