    Anyone else customize model horses?

I admit, I haven't done any for awhile, nor have I gone to any model horse show for a few years, but thought I'd share some of mine.

The red dun Paint was a Breyer San Domingo model and the grulla Criollo was a Breyer QH Yearling.

I have some older Breyers but have never been to a show. What are they like?
    Nice models.

You might be surprised how competative people can be, lol! There are halter classes (generally breed, but sometimes mare/stallion/gelding as well) and performance classes for English, Western and harness. So you also need tack and obstacles.

What? Horse people competitive? Oh surely not.....
Well at least the tack and jumps are a little less expensive.
    (They are less expensive....right? )

I used to, I entered some of my customs in shows and one placed! That was a surprise to me :) I've also made resculpted a model once, but I don't customise anymore.

    Your customs are neat!
I do some painting and customizing too. Here are a few of mine.:)
    A Schleich pony.

    Britains shetland custom.

    Schleich percheron.

And a Breyer classic appaloosa foal

OP, I love the feathers you did on that draft :)

I haven't customized anything yet, but I would love to "Make" my own model... But patience and lack of time get in the way :P

Zora--I think I remember you from Fallen Leaves. (: I just love your work!

Lockwood--The tack can actually be as expensive as real horse tack o.o xD I think it's rather silly

I do some customizing. Not much lately... I should get back into it, now that I have so much time on my hands xD

I used to be very into showing the plastic ponies. I still have a couple of them, and will attend a show occasionally... But real horses have always been more important and, since my parents are no longer footing either bill, I have to be more selective about what I purchase and do xD
