Azarni's Artwork Journal

Hey all! I had an art request thread a couple years ago that died, but I thought I'd start posting my sketches as I do them. I'm a bit of an on-and-off artist. It's almost comical how my passion for drawing comes and goes.

Here's a two-hour speed sketch I did a couple weeks ago; it was my first time picking up a drawing pencil in TWO YEARS! I was happy with how it turned out:

I should say you should be happy with how it turned out! Especially considering this is the first time you have drawn in two years. Nice job!

especially when it's trying to buck you off

Okay, there's a lot wrong with it, the proportions are more than a little scary ;) But I had a LOT of fun with this one! It took a little over 3 hours, and it's the only thing I've drawn since the first picture I posted. The shading was a real challenge, but in a good way! I chuckled at how lopsided the horse's nose is, and how tiny the eyes are...Oops. Ah well. Onwards and upwards!

Great work! I've been an off and on drawer for almost all of my life. Its funny how that works out like that. But for just picking it up after a long break, you did great! You have a great understanding of shadows and linework, love it.

Want to know the story? From The Start? It is a work in progress.
The $25 horse I didn't want.

So I figured that since there were so many things wrong with the last one, I'd try try again...the effing eyes are crooked this time hahaha. As soon as I noticed, which should have been way earlier, I just started madly scribbling around the outside of the horse instead of finishing it. It was probably about 70% of the way if I had continued.
