    Smile Critique needed!

I was home sick from school today, had the urge to draw something, and came up with this! It is my first 'proper' pencil drawing, and I am (reasonably) pleased with how it turned out. (Also, sorry for the crumby pic - it looks WAY better in real life. )
    Please, please, please critique!

I think it looks awesome :)

The ears are on the small side and there's something odd about that eye... maybe positioning? The size of it looks ok and the shape and form is good. There's also something not quite right about the neck but again I can't put my finger on it.

Otherwise, stunning! I draw ears and eyes HUGE because I draw cartoon style... I fail completely at realism. I think realism and cartoonism are two different kinds of creativity, and I can't always do two things at once. I can sort of combine them. I shade my cartoon horses as realistically as I can. I just can't do realistic lines and proportions to save my life.

You are incredibly talented, keep it up!

I'd say the eye just needs moved up and to the left a smidge... ears, yeah, a bit small, but sometimes horses do have small ears, maybe thicken/widen them up a bit and they'd look more like pony ears and less like undersized ears on the photo. I'd also play with the nostril a bit...make it a touch longer (up/down) and a smidge with it a bit. Really a nice job.

Nostrils are upside down. The angle of the eye is a bit steep. The inside corner needs to come up a little. Overall, very nice. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone for your kind advice!
I will definitely remember it all for next time.

I am no expert but I would maybe darken the darker areas a bit more (if that makes sense haha) eg. The eye and inside of nostril. It might bing them "out" a bit more :) I love it though :)
