Ah, I got it fixed.

Ayu portrait, my first portrait with humans--and I'll fix the bad sketch as I go.

You are pretty good. :)
I like your shading.
Can I give you a little advice? When I do faces I draw myself a vertical line through the middle - really lightly so it can be covered with shading. And a horizontal line between the top of the ears for the eyes. It helps me keep the alignment.

Well I used a ruler to fix proportions, but the ear kept looking wrong so when I changed it it just got out of hand. Thanks though =] This is my first portrait, and advice and comments are /always/ welcome.

I think for your first time it looks great.
I was not really talking about fixing this one.
I'm so used to working with burning iron; I don't fix stuff.
I meant in the future, so you don't have to worry about fixing anything. :)

That's true. ^^ Thanks At least with Ayumi, her plastic surgery makes her real symmetrical.

I'll put what I put on dA.
This is the completed work of my first portrait of Ayumi Hamasaki.

There are several things wrong with this portait, and it drives me crazy. I know it is my first portrait of a person from scratch, but it still frustrates me.

I used Photoshop PSE to adjust the colouring and to darken what the scanner lightened up again, and clean up the background.

Critique is definetely welcome, not too harshly though. ^^
About 13 hours.
I used 6B-3H, and there's much I wish I took more time on. The eyes, oh god the eyes are terrible. =/

I did fix the ears, kinda.

I had bad erasing and when editing out the background I missed a bit.
This should make the ear look a lot better!
