Finally some down time - Bring out the pencils!

Sophmore year has been tough, I must admit. So I've had zero time to sketch, which is very sad. But having some unplanned down time after surgery, I've actually been able to pull the pencils out again, and I figured that I would share some of my work with you guys.

Still trying to get back into it - really don't like this guy's face

Our silly three year old gelding, Armani, posing-

I'm not a fan of this one but it was alright. Humans are obviously not my strong point!

One of our disabled adults (cerebal palsey) riding a lesson horse, Rosi, in a reining show! ^^

An old pack horse - proportions purposely imperfect for a realistic outlook.

My favorite. This guy I just drew out of my head.

XD I had fun with this one! Sadly I couldnt get it to flip upright on the forums

And a work in progress.

Feel free to rip me apart guys! I'd love some critique, even from non artists.

Wow! Great work - I really like how you do your horses. Not to worry on the people - I have a hard time with them too.

Thankyou guys! It's taken countless failures for me to get this good, and I'm nowhere near what I want to be, but I sure do enjoy it!

XD thankyou! That's a totally typical pose of Armani, so I figured hey- why not draw him true to his personality?

Your way of drawing is very "painterly". May I suggest you try watercolors?

Thats a first! I just might have to try that.

I always figured that I wasn't much of a painter, because I tried acrylics and failed horribly. My problem is that I just don't have very much patience. Each of these took me 2-3 hours, but beyond that I get a bit bored xD

I like the way you shade, I'm so tentative and nothing comes out dark enough.
I like the quote in the 5th picture :)
