First full drawing in a while

I've been in an artistic mood...dabbled in photoshop last week and then last night I drew this:

Still needs a lot of work and GR the mane looks like poo. but I'm pretty happy with it.

Whaddya think? Any glaring faults that I should fix?

I like it a lot! The only things I see are 1.) work on making the head more a focus point instead of letting it sink into the background, and 2.) make the back shorter, especially on the draft breeds, and 3.) try to make the horses deeper in chest in their front end. Other than that I think it's stunning! Much better than I could do

haha yeah the head was a bit of a fail...i'm probably going to work on that after my exams this week. I feel like if the legs were longer, then the back would be more in porportion....cause I drew the body/neck first then went back and added the legs. And I definitely see what you mean about the chest, thanks!

It's of Keegan, my favorite Frieisian stallion in the world :) Though he is much better proportioned than this drawing hahaha.

    It's good!
My only suggestion, which you've already heard, is to keep working on proportions. I struggle with that too. I'll put a ton of work into a drawing, get it done, then look back and realize that the head is too small or the legs aren't proportioned correctly. Super frustrating but o the joys of drawing right?
Look forward to seeing more from you.

That's what I did with the head! I finished it and went..OH NO!

I actually was much better at proportions when I drew full bodies regularly [couldn't shade for anything but hey, at least the head was big enough!] but for the past few months I've been sticking with either no drawings at all, people, or just headshots. -_-

    Thanks mistygirl and payette!
