Grullo Colt-Digital

Well..I decided that I wanted to colour/paint something. :3
I haven't done anything of the sort since I stopped playing VHR and did 2 paintings/drawings for my aunt of her old horses..so I think I'm at least close to where I was when I left off.

How's it look so far?
I haven't even touched the black points aside from putting them down roughly and changing the opacity so I can see what I'm doing, and the rest is on one layer (aside from the lineart).

I've only done the head and neck (not the mane), but I need to do something else with the neck..just have to figure out what it needs first. I'm thinking a few more highlights around the muzzle area as well.
Anyway, comments and critique are more than welcome.(:

Sometimes it's easier to do all the shading all over the body first, then work lighter. You have to work out of being sequential!

As far as color, I love it. You're doing a great job.

Aren't JNFerrigno's resources the best? As an aspiring artist YEARS ago on VHR I looked up to her as a HUGE source of inspiration. I still talk to her from time to time on Deviantart, but she hasn't been online in a while..

I normally just do it in sections because I use to mess everything up when I did all shadows, all DARK shadows, highlights, and then BRIGHT highlights over the whole body, it'd always look like there were different horses pieced together, lol. I generally do head, neck, shoulder, front legs, barrel, hindquarters, back legs, mane, tail, and then the eye, and it's been working when I eventually get to doing something, lol.

I never really played VHR well, I just sold colourings for cash and hoarded it, haha. I didn't really talk much on their either..I was just about the art xD JNFerrigno does have GREAT resources though, and I absolutely love it! I have a whole folder of her library saved in my computer for when Internet or her website is down, haha.

I've played VHR and started coloring there, haha. The only thing I can say really is that the muzzle could be blended a little more, but I know it's just a WIP.
