Horseshoe crafts?

Does anyone know of any horseshoe crafts that do NOT involve welding? I have a few buckets of horse shoes (I don't remember why I have them...my horse is barefoot!). I advertised them as freebies locally, thinking a welder might like to make things for resale, but despite me telling people that they are USED horse shoes, people kept asking if they were suitable to use on their horses. In one case, a lady was going to use them on some therapeutic riding horses! These are worn shoes and not in any condition I would consider to be on a horse's hoof.

So....any ideas on what I can do with them? Preferably things that I could make or sell off.

Just a few suggestions...

1) use them as a hook for bridles and rugs. We have a horseshoe hung outside every stable I work at, just with a bit of twine and that is where we hang all the rugs.

2) My daughter had a pony party and all the kids got to paint the shoes. You can slip ribbon into the nail holes as well. I got all the shoes off the farrier and he mentioned he knew of a man who sold painted horseshoes during the "celtic tiger" for a tenner a pop....

3) You can also turn them into home made picture frames.

I used to make horse shoe mandellas. I used old horseshoes, I first cleaned them up (steel wool works well) painted them black then decorated away.
