I'm baack!!!

Greetings everybody. I know I took a bit of a break while I was on my honeymoon, but I am back and ready to get back into drawing again. I'll have to dig up that old post "first 3 people" when I get a chance.

Of course, even on my honeymoon I can't go without doing a little sketching. These are a couple things I whipped out during a little down time in my hotel room. I brought my mechanical and graphite pencils, but wound up buying a new (and somewhat cheap) colored pencil set while I was in Vancouver, Canada. I am such a nerd...lol.

I am not terribly happy with the graphite drawing as a whole, but I do think this is my best work with regard to the muzzle and the bridle. I took a couple close up shots of the muzzle and bridle with my cell phone. There are also things left to be desired in the colored pencil drawing too, but these drawings didn't take me more than 5 hours total.

Anyway, enjoy!

Actually, I am very happy with the colored pencil drawing. I like how the mare and foals' faces turned out. There were just a few things about the drawing that I see, that ya'll may or may not see that could use a little improvement, but overall, I am happy with how it turned out. I "rarely" do backgrounds, but I do think, when keeping them simple, they really enhance a drawing. I need to step out of my comfort zone more often.

Welcome back, hope the honeymoon isn't really over...
Nice pictures, can't believe you got them finished in 5 hours!! I spent 3 hours on a square inch the other day.
Love the flea-bitten grey, you got it perfect.

don't worry, spiders, I keep house casually.

Beautifull work Liz as usual!! I'm tempted to start a bit of coloured pencil work after seeing yours, will put it on my list after charcoal when I finish my last 3 commissions hopefully for the year!! Very glad you put a background on the mare and foal, it really lifts them out of the page. LOVE the fleabitten grey, I always cringe when I get a grey to draw, so certainly admire you're ability to get that horrible colour just right!
