Kitty Goes Where?

I'm getting a little bit more brave...
Working on the header for my website for commissions I wanted to include the things I love to draw the most: horses, cats, and dogs. While I'm perfectly fine with drawing people, it's one of those things that I'm less confident with (and it shows).

I'm not yet sure how I'm going to include the dog, and any input to that would also be helpful. :P

I've seen lots of cats (including my barn cat) have "relationships" with the horses. Buddy, the cat, is usually out casually napping around some hay while the horses are eating near him. He feels totally safe with them.

Originally I was going to put the kitty on the point of hip. I also though about putting it on the horse's barrel. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

We have a picture of a colt we were horse-sitting laying down, and our kitten Ray Ray was curled up on the colts legs by his tummie. It looked like the colt was cruled around Ray and it was really cute!

Having the cat on the horse's hip would be cute. ^_^ I think the dog could possibly sitting to the right of the horse looking at the cat.

That sounds like an adorable idea, Akuinnen! Maybe like a toy breed/puppy looking up at the cat like it's on some sort of mountain, that is the horse's rump.

Going to be awesome. I like point of hip for placement of cat. Can you have it with eyes closed , too? Kind of smug looking?

That was the plan. (: I was debating between a brown tabby with white boots or my black and white kitten Candied Scotch (seen below). She can pull off smug/sassy/silly pretty well, but it really wouldn't matter in the end would it?

I also have some other cats around the neighborhood that I've tamed and named (Candy and her brother being two of them). I can draw my gray/white spotted kitty, Candy's father Oreo, one of the black cats, or a gray cat with boots.

The dog could be laying down, with his head resting out in front of him on the ground, sorta giving a "peak" up at the horse. The cat could be brushing up under/ against the horse's face or jaw area and inquisitively reaching his nose out to the horse.

It looks wonderful so far, I am sure that whatever you decide will look great! :)
