Latest work in Progress

I've been absent so long! It's been busy in the studio with a few commission pieces that had me tied to my chair, and working too has kept me from my computer time! I'm glad to see everyone doing fine and being creative!!!
This painting is one I started after that last commission...I just felt like doing a painting that wasn't somebody else's idea and I could play with my paints! This is Columbus and Tom Bass...this horse was the star of Wild Bill's Wild West show back at the turn of the century...circa 1900 approx. Tom Bass often described him as " Columbus discovered America...and I discovered Columbus " purchasing him after seeing him as a yearling romping in a pasture.

I love how the horse is glowing, & the background is less sharp.

JUst lovely modelling of the horse and you have given him "chrome". the way you captured the light on the horse is wonderful.

Thank you everyone!!! It's now finished and I certainly learned a lot from this one...white horses are a tougher challenge than I thought! Getting those values to work out are tricky!

Gorgeous! The horse's coat turned out fantastic! Can you come make my grey look that shiny in real life?
