little something I threw together today

I'm idly writing a little book (no I will not share, it's hand written and I can't be bothered typing it all out), and I'm a really visual person so of course I had to draw the main character's horse... His name is Cramond K, his "info" is on the full body pic. Including real life stallions in his bloodlines, the mare is made up though :)

Full body piaffe;

The cover, I'm much happier with this than with the full body;

My scanner screwed with the colours in the background some, it looks better in real life.

Edit to add; both pictures are completely unreffed and I absolutely KNOW the hind leg in the piaffe is in the wrong place/with the wrong anatomy but I couldn't be bothered finding a photo to ref off and there's no going back now.

I like the design quality, and the use of writing , right on the page. It has an "architectural" quality. Nice work.

Thank you :) I get very lazy and rarely do backgrounds, especially on full body pics, because I struggle with legs a little bit. This particular full body was on very small paper too, hence the lack of detail.

I must find a reference for braids and do a nice big headshot on my proper drawing paper...

Theyre very cute! What is the story line of the book you are writing?

Cross Country- The act of hurling yourself and your equine partner at a stationary object with poise and grace while attempting to survive...

The main character is an eventer and meets a lady at a show who offers her the opportunity to use her facilities in return for a little bit of help around the place. Catch is Mel (main character) is in Sydney, and Taz (the other lady) is just outside of Adelaide... that's as far as I've gotten, I don't really plan my stories!
