Quick question: do you do the background or the people first? I'm considering trying a simple background with my latest horse drawing but I've almost drawn all of the horse and am worried about smudging him whilst doing the background so was just wondering which way round you did it :)
Thanks for the kind words. Typically, I do a pic from the top left down and across and end up at the bottom right, so my hand never smudges. With that said, this one I did the people first then went to the top left and did the background down and across. I just turned the paper so I wouldn't smudge.

I took the website down and am reworking it to get something more user friendly this spring.
