These are great! I love the sense of energy, kind of like a electric vibration from the many lines going every which way.

For the first one, it looks like a windy day. What if a few leaves were blown off into the wind? or a girl walked underneath, with an umbrella ? (that way you can hide the face, makes it easier to draw)

The rose one would look really cool reduced to about 2 inches square. It would be a cute "stamp". Consider doing a light color wash on it with watercolors, very soft and simple.

The bird is lovely and again, would look cool with a simple yellow wash on part of it. Or not.

I like how you experiment with different mediums to find what clicks with you.

Thankyou Tinyliny I am very glad I tried pen cause I do love it. I might consider putting a bit of colour on a couple of them. I also will try drawing a girl under the tree I wreckon :D Thankyou again I cherish your advice.

YOu know that tree one kind of reminds me of the illustrations in the original Winnie the Pooh books, of the "Hundred Acre Woods". They also used a very soft watercolor wash over ink, I think.
The rose kind of reminds me of tooling on a western saddle.

Haha I agree Tinyliny!
I added a little girl and dog to the tree picture and I tried to put a few little bushes but they really didnt work out ( I kinda ruined the picture :-() My camera also made it look worse than it actually is :-|

but anway I will try and get better

Caitlin! These are really getting me excited! I think that the pen and ink, as a medium, if really kind of forcing you to decide that certain places have to have more strength and importance than others and by using intense blacks for those, such as you did with the rabbit's eyes, and the wheel's shadows, you really make a pleaseing composition for the viewer's eye. I am really proud of you for trying and drawing and drawing and drawing. I see real, marked improvement!

The Arabian is also a good sketch , with darker areas and lighter ones. Anatomically , it's pretty good in the body. The head has a couple of things that aren't right, namely the ears and how they attach to the head, which is something I've noticed you struggle with in many of your horse drawings. It's a complicated arrangement, and even human ears are complicated.

Look again at your reference photo and how the spine and head attach at the poll and the ears., also, use a pencil to verify that the size of your head is correctly porportioned to the body (I am not sure on that).

It's worlds better than any horse sketch I've seen you do yet.

These seem like a real breakthrough for you.

Thankyou so much Tinyliny :) I feel like I have had a breakthrough with my drawings, they seem easier!! I think I do have to try harder on getting my proportions right I find myself sayin yeah that's about right when it really isn't :/ and I do have a lot of trouble with the ears connecting to the head but I will practise :) thanks again for ur advice :)
