    My "cartoons"...

I thought it might be fun to share with you guys the cartoons I do. I'm not sure if they really should be called cartoons because most of them are illustrations of thoughts I have, just my style is really cartoon-y. I can't actually-factually draw for the life of me.

These are done with ballpoint pens, pencil outlines of the main stuff first, then pen.

Most are not horse related, I think dinosaurs are really hilarious and fun to draw so I do mostly dinosaurs but horses make an appearance every once in a while.

Also, these are what I do in class when I'm bored. So they're mildly influenced by what the teacher was talking about or something that happened that day.

    Anyway, here they are....

The one I finished today, mildly Narnia meets Napoleon's horse inspired:

    Last week's. April 2nd was T-Rex Day...

For a cartooning class I took. The teacher wanted a caricature and I thought I was giving him a caricature but he said it was "Too cartoon-y"... Oh well! LOL!

I did this one a couple months ago. My Geography teacher kept going on and on about the oil pipeline thing and how we should all go to North/South Dakota and get jobs fracking oil... I don't even know.

This one is one of my absolute favorites, even though the people do look a little undead... I drew this one a few months ago too.

Maybe I'll keep posting as I create more... :)

I like the first one the best, then the last one. The verbage is ok, might be something better, just not sure. But the image is wonderful! Your shading and stylized faces, and the simplicity is very appealing. Get it out there and it might go viral!

Thanks guys! I really enjoy doing them.
I'd really like to figure out a way to do something with this but I don't know how one gets into whatever you'd call this. I've been told multiple times that I should illustrate children's books which sounds awesome but how do you become an illustrator? Do you just wake up one day and say "I'm going to illustrate a book today!" or what? Hahaha

I agree tiny, about the written portions. One liners are not my forte. In real life, they so are but writing them down, I dunno. Haha I appreciate the kinda critique!

Illustrating children's books is a very competitive field. I don't know a lot about it, but am told that you need practically a miracle to get it. However, do more, like a series of the dinosaur/dragon ones, then maybe appoach a publisher? I don't know.
