New Horse Oil Paintings - Comments wanted.

I just wanted peoples oppinions on how these paintings came out. The first one is my first oil painting. It is a portrait of my Horse Quebeth. The second is a copy of David's painting. "Napoleon at saint benard Pass" I did it for my AP Art History class.

The real size of the napoleon painting is about 10 ft high by 6 ft wide. The one I did is about 2 ft by 1.5 ft. And as to what happend to it, I am not finished. It is still a work in progress. I probably won't get around to finishing it untill christmas as I am a college student and very busy.
The one I did of Foxfire is only 8" high by 6" wide.
