This is my first attempt at using watercolor pencils. I've been wanting to add some color to my drawings and gave these a try on this lion cub. It's not my favorite piece I've done, but I'm happy with it. You can see the work-in-progress on the Artist Forum: watercolor pencil WIP
Thanks Equusketch! The only advice I can give is to be really careful when adding water. It's really easy to add too much and just turn everything to mud. I built up all my layers of color first and used an old, stiff paintbrush which worked pretty well since it couldn't get too saturated. I'm told that they make a special paintbrush for these pencils, too, that I'm going to check into since I'll probably use them again. :)
Thanks armydogs, yes, they're really neat, too! It's fun to watch the colors get so rich and vibrant after adding water. :)
Let's see... the first & last time I tried water color was... in highschool! Lol I can say I neither liked nor disliked it but you obviously have alot of talent with it! ;)LOVE the eyes!
