Working on my horse atm, Mim/Call Me Madame.

Here's some photo's and have been recording it, so when I'm done I'll post a video (::::: And I made the mane pulled length haha, cause I'm lazy and she has a pulled mane now.

What do you think?!

I'm curious - what is your technique? Do you paint over images, paint from a reference or use filters?

I do digital paintings in Photoshop and Corel Painter, generally start with a hand-drawn sketch that I scan in and paint over. A digital painting takes between 3 and 8 hours for me usually. I haven't done many horses yet, though!

Thanks PT (:

EHOD - I actually 'cheat' (; hehe I just use the eyedrop tool and go over the photo with all the basic colours, using a little paintbrush. Here's a half done photo, and will post that video soon (:

So I do all the colours, then will do a BG colour/s and then smudge it together, then add highlights/shadows etc.

Oooooh! Never seen this technique in action! Nah, it's not cheating. It's a really interesting result - half "painterly" and half like a photo. Must try it one day!
