Question about woodburning...

My husband just bought me a woodburning kit for my birthday along with a few wood pieces to practice on. They are made of pine.

I was just curious for ya'll woodburning guru's (ahem All4Crystal) what types of wood you find to be the best for woodburning.

I'd love any other advice with regard to woodburning as I am about to jump into this completely unprepared.
