What version of Photo Shop?

For Christmas I asked my husband for Photo Shop. What I didn't realize is there are so many different versions. What version do you use? I recently tried Elements and liked it, but I've never used it before, so I don't know if there is a better version.

The higher the number, the newer the edition. CS 4 would be the newest. There aren't necessarily versions as they are newer editions. I will say this though, CS 3 will be cheaper than CS 4 obviously. And if you ask me, CS 3 isn't really that different than CS 4. I've used both and the changes and additions in CS 4 aren't really worth the additional cost to get the newest.

I have PS Elements 7- I think.
It's much cheaper than CS3 & CS4, so unless you need the most up to date version or are going to be using it for a professional business, I find it unnecessary.

The elements 7 IS bunches cheaper.

Are you wanting to do subtle "makeovers" on your pictures, or actual graphics?

I would like to do graphics. I want to be able to touch up photos, change backgrounds, I would love to do stuff like my picture.

Then my guess is Elements 7 or 8.

I'm hoping to get PS Elements 7 as I have seen work done with it, like xAddictionx's and I'm in love with it.
