Boarding and Lessons in Gainesville, Florida

Hey, I'm looking for a place to board my OTTB mare in or around Gainesville, Florida. Preferably a boarder's barn, but not necessary. I'm currently boarding her in Jonesville, but I'm not too happy with the place, and am considering moving. I have a trainer now who I love, but would not teach in a different barn, so I'd also be on the hunt for a new trainer. It's important for me to find a trainer before moving barns, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I posted here looking for the same thing several months ago. Honestly, the only advice I can give you is to look in Ocala. I was just looking for a place where my horse could be reasonably safe and the BO was relatively honest. I've boarded at five barns in Alachua county and looked at over a dozen and none of them have met that really basic standard.

The place I'm boarding at now has no openings, but there are so many barns to choose from. The only downside is the 40 minute drive. It's still so worth it to have someone I can trust looking after my horse. If you want to know anything about my specific experiences with barns in Alachua county, you can PM me.

Thanks! There's actually something opening up in Micanopy later this month! I know the BM personally, and I would trust her with not only my horse's life, but my own as well :) it's also on a lot of land, they're building a XC course, and the people I know that are going there are pretty awesome. Board is totally reasonable, too. Best of all, it's only 25 minutes away!
