could use some experienced opinions....

Hey All,
I have had my first horse for a year and a half and am boarding at a really great place. What is great about it is that the care for the horses is incredible, it has bigger pastures than any place I have found, it is small and it is only 20-25 minutes from my house.
The issue....Over the past 1 1/2 years my riding confidence has really gotten bad after encountering a few things
1) we have to ride down a pretty nasty industrial road for a mile to get to the trails. Freight trucks, speeders, noisy gravel is bad(my horse is usually pretty good but the road freaks me out)
2) the trails we ride on are all purpose and my horse and I had a very bad incident with a biker that left us both very shaken and my barn owner in the hospital for a week so those trails are not my favorite place to be anymore
3) the horses at my barn are much flighter and unsteady then my horse and it is never a calm relaxing ride being with them...that has shaken me up as well.

so....I am thinking of moving as now I basically only have a small outdoor arena to ride in a couple acres of pasture. I do not have a trailer. My confidence is so shot that I am not ready to go on trails anyways. I do feel that if I had more opportunities to expand my riding, I could work on my confidence.
I am thinking that if I had a larger indoor and outdoor arena I could ride year round and if there were some small trails on the property that would help as well.

I found a perfect place with some very nice people but it is 45 minutes away. I also worry that I could be sacrificing the amazing care I get for my horse. This BO I am with currently sets the bar and I am not sure I will ever find duplicate care but on the other hand I think I will be stuck in this rut.

I am very close with the BO and the other boarders and very at home at this barn.
Just looking for some thoughts....thank you

While it's so important that your horse is taken care of properly.. you have to consider your needs to. Trashed confidence will not be a good thing for your relationship with your horse.

I'd look into other properties and make sure that you get all of questions answered. Make sure your horse gets great care and you have access to riding facilities year round.
